3D Printing Vascular Surgery Planning Guides

3D printing is the capability to rapidly create physical structures using inexpensive tools and technologies.  We partnered with Lehigh University's senior capstone program to identify opportunities to use 3D printing within our organization.  We chose to evaluate 3D printing to support vascular surgeons in planning for abdominal aortic aneurysms - an enlargement of the aorta within the abdomen.

Surgical planning is critical to ensure timely surgical intervention, and 3D modeling of the aneurysm may allow our physicians to better plan for treatment and surgical approach.
